Peugeot
Peugeot is one of the most recognised French brands with a strong tradition of quality and innovation. Peugeot spice mills appear in home kitchens worldwide, as well as on many of the greatest chefs' tables. In the 19th century Peugeot began manufacturing saw blades, coffee mills, spice mills and penny farthing bicycles, among other things, creativity always being the driving force behind the brand. Over the years, Peugeot has diversified further into even more product categories.

Jean Pierre and Jean Frederic Peugeot started their steel mill in 1810 by converting a mill inherited from their ancestors.
In 1840 they created their first coffee mill, which was made of wood and sheet metal – up until 1870 it was called the ‘Ordinary Model’.
In 1850 the Lion symbol appeared on the saw blades – it symbolised the quality of the Peugeot tools and utensils: teeth resistance, blade flexibility and fast cutting.
In 1855 the first cast iron mills were manufactured, also called ‘counter or grocer’s mills’ – these were used to grind large quantities of grains, coffee, sugar, oats, etc.
On 20th November 1858 the trademark ‘Lion on an Arrow’ was official registered at the Conservatoire Imperial des Arts et Metiers.
In 1874 the first Peugeot pepper mill was created, the Z model, this was also the most widespread and is still manufactured today. Initially in plain white china, it was then made in silver plate, bakelite and wood, it was also sometimes fitted with a crank handle.
In 1930 the first attempt at an electric coffee grinder was made, but these were cumbersome, with the motor being outside the grinder and driven by a belt – they were discontinued in 1932.
In 1997 the first electric salt and pepper mills were produced.
In 2010 Peugeot celebrated its bicentennial.
