Kaymet
The range began with spun bowls, soon followed by trays, household trolleys, and other tableware. The classic Kaymet cast aluminium handles were the first tray type, introduced in the first year of trading, followed by extruded handle trays a few years latter.

In the 1930s the Schreiber family started producing radio chassis? in the basement of their radio shop on London Road, Elephant & Castle. During World War 2 they produced aluminum radio and radar components and during that time they moved to what would become the Kaymet Works in Kennington Lane. Following the war, Sydney Schreiber changed the production to anodized domestic ware and the Kaymet brand was established in 1947, the name changing from A Kahn (Kahn being the name that Mr Schreiber used until 1957), with the K from the name Kahn and met from metal.
In 1950 the business changed it?s name to The Kaymet Company and they made spun bowls, trays and household trolleys.
In 1954, just off the Old Kent Road, land was acquired to construct a new factory, which was completed in 1957, consisting of a modern polishing shop and an anodising shop.
Supply to the British Royal Family traces back to 1948 after Queen Mary visited their stand at Olympia, purchasing a spun bowl. Kaymet was granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to The Queen in April 2018.
From 2018 all products have been hand made at Ossory Road, with the majority of operations being completed in-house.
