Skultuna

Skultuna was founded as a brass foundry by King Karl IX in 1607 in Skultuna, Sweden. They initially made large brass objects, such as chandeliers, and the oldest known chandelier is dated 1619 and is in the Church of Our Lady in Enkoping.

Carl Hjalmar Norrstrom was one of the designers and he won many awards for his creations, including a baptismal font that is in the museum in Skultuna. In the 1950?s, Pierre Forssell, a silversmith, created contemporary items and in the 1980s, Sigvard Bernadotte, designed dining table products.

Today Skultuna can be found in department stores around the world, including tableware, home d?cor and jewellery. Production in the factory continues in the same tradition and this is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sweden.
