Objet de Curiosite

Objet de Curiosite was established in 2001 by Lilau and Pierre-Emmanuel Grange-Jaricot.

As a child, Pierre-Emmanuel raised beetles and searched for fossils, recording their names on labels. Over time, as they travelled, they put together their own collection of curiosities. In 2001 they decided to draw upon their experience and bring to life their passion for rare objects with stories to tell. Lilau found a way of creating interior design objects from these items, alongside Pierre-Emmanuel’s background as the child of furniture designers.

Mineral curiosities reflect the best the Earth offers. Precious stones and fossils, these curiosities have survived for years. They hold the memory of our planet and come to life once again in our interiors.

Animal curiosities remind us of the rich secrets nature holds. From the smallest insect to the largest shell, creatures from the sea and land combine to create marvels for our enjoyment.

The ornamental brings everything together. It is the difference between an accumulation of objects and a selection that reflects choice. Combining materials, eras and colours to give an insight into yourself and to help express what matters.
