Kim began her career by designing dresses and evening gowns but always loved tabletop. While travelling to China on frequent business trips in the 90s she loved the brilliant fabrics displayed in the markets and bazaars. She purchased a piece of inexpensive material, which was hand embroidered, and this started the thought that this type of intricacy could work well at the table. Most dining accessories of that time were basic, so while redecorating her home she started to design items for herself. When her friends saw her designs they asked to place orders.

The brand, Kim Seybert, was born in 1998 and a new category of table decor was created.

The company?s extravagant collections are regularly featured in design and lifestyle magazines; they dress the tables of celebrities, restaurants, yachts and business leaders. Collections include placemats, table runners, tablecloths, napkins and coasters and there has also been a collaboration with Baccarat.
