In 1857 in a village in Southern France, Pierre Jars created a family run ceramics workshop. His vision was a combination of beauty and effectiveness.

The original traditions are continued today and every piece of stoneware is made by hand, meaning that every piece is unique. The potters' skills have been passed down through generations and the ecological sustainability is very important, recycling water and china clay mixes, as well as exhaust heat from the kilns, into other areas of production. The glazes are designed and produced in the Jars workshops, with hundreds of colours. The high intensity firing of the kiln at 1280C ensures the clay achieves its final shape and colour.
